I’ve had some time to go through last weekend’s stunning wedding at St Pauls Cathedral and thought I’d show you all a slide show of some of my favourite photos. As an Aberdeen based wedding photographer I’ve been very privileged this year to cover both of Brian and Vish’s location weddings in India and now London. I’m very much looking forward to having them round to the studio to pick their album photos and create something special. Enjoy the slideshow.

Olympus OM-D review and some London street photography
As many of you will know I go through small cameras like I go through AA batteries. As much as I love their portability and discreteness, they always seem like a compromise so I sell them on and try again. Recent dips into the world of miniature photo guns have included the Sony Nex 5N ( great little camera but the body was too small in comparison the lenses and it felt more like an electronic gadget than a real camera ) and the Fuji X Pro1 ( fantastic files and handling but poor AF and quirky). After debating giving up on small cameras all together I decided to give them one last try, enter the new Olympus OM-D.
I’ll keep this short and sweet. It’s small but fits nicely in the hand. All the buttons are in exact place they should be and give me just the control I need. I can quickly change my focus point and actually get focus quicker than any small camera I’ve ever had or played with. The EVF is sharp, refreshes nice and quickly and very usable (no focus peaking yet…come on Olympus give us a firmware update ). The rear touch screen OLED OLD is very nice, tilts and allows you to either pick you focus point before you lift the camera to you eye or actually focus and take the shot. Most importantly the raw files have a high dynamic range and for a small sensor I’ve been very impressed with the ISO up to 1600. The image stabilisation is on another lever completely, very impressed. Down sides? Its a little over priced for a M43 camera, battery life is about 300 shots (I’ll pick a spare), things get a bit noisy at 3200 iso (I turn off all the noise reduction functions on the camera) and the buttons can feel a bit rubbery due to the camera being weather sealed.
I took the camera out for a spin while down in london using the 45mm f/1.8, the 20mm f/1.7 pancake (which makes the camera nice and portable) and the 12-50mm kit lens (nice for macro but have sold it already).
I mainly shot street photography, details shots for the wedding I had the next day and a few animal shots from the zoo.
Here are a few from the weekend.

Brian and Vish’s London Wedding
I’ve just returned from a fantastic weekend in london for the second part of Brian and Vish’s Wedding. It was a far cry from the the streets of Aberdeen as everyone started the celebrations at St Pauls Cathedral. The intimate ceremony away from the crowds was just right and set the tone for the day. We were lucky enough to have an hour after the wedding to get some stunning shots of the couple who were met with rounds of cheer and applause as we walked round the streets. The evening venue was at the very regal Grays’s Inn and was full of atmosphere and heritage. The food was sumptuous, the wine was flowing and there was dancing right up to the very end. It’s with great pleasure that I can share with you a few….O.K…..many photos from the day.

Scott Baptie
Today I had a sports and fitness photo shoot with my good friend Scott Baptie at www.foodforfitness.co.uk. The sun may have been out but boy was it cold! Poor Scott! We headed down to Seaton Park with some high power lighting and got to work. Scott attracted a lot of attention…. mainly from people worried he’d be freezing with his top off!

Tara Mann
Very quick post tonight as It’s getting late. Had Tara round this evening who was after a model portfolio package. We braved the cold and rain and hit the streets. Here are a few of my favourites.
