I had my first photo shoot with Jonathan recently and I was rather nervous beforehand. However, as soon as the shoot began I felt at ease with him as he was professional but down to earth and made me feel comfortable. He also allowed me to have my say on parts of the location where I would like to be photographed and the poses I did. That was a pleasant surprise as some photographers know exactly what they have in mind and like to stick to their strategic set of ideas they have planned for the model without the model having any input. The lighting for the shoot was perfect and I received the photos a few days after the shoot. I was very pleased with them and can’t wait to work with him again.

I recently worked on a fashion shoot with Jonathan Addie for my portfolio and I have to say he took it to a whole new level. We recently worked with Jonathan on our 2008 trend vision photo shoot which is a competition run by wella every year in the hope of finding young new talent . We organized a shoot in the salon with the staff, it was very motivating and we found Jonathan extremely professional on the day. The kids felt at ease and the shots were lovely. I worked with Jonathan Addie recently to get some profile shots for my Music and Acting portfolio, I was blown away by the results. Due to the arrival of our newborn son, we decided to have some professional family photos taken to celebrate the event. We initially used a large, reputable firm, but were very disappointed with the service, never mind the resultant photos. The quality of the background material was poor, many of the photos had cropped the person in the picture, and the posed photos seemed forced, stiff and very formal. I contacted Jonathan and we arranged for him to come round to our house for a sitting. Because the atmosphere was relaxed & informal, we got some great photos of our son and ourselves which we are absolutely delighted with. We’d have no reservations recommending Jonathan to anyone who’s considering something similar, in fact we hope to have him take some wedding photos later this year!

 

 

I recently did a photo shoot with Jonathan for a magazine article and also for my portfolio. I was very nervous before but he quickly made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. Jo is clearly very passionate about his work and ensures you get the best results. I’m extremely happy with the pictures and very much enjoyed the whole experience, so much so, i asked him to take pictures of my beloved horses, which again was a brilliant experience. Being a professional model full time as well as a musician, I’ve worked with lots of different photographers and tend to get my picture taken on a regular basis. I found Jo to be very good! He was organized, planned the shoot before hand, had brilliant locations to shoot with an got the shots very quickly so the shoot was always interesting and fast paced. The results were amazing too. Iwould highly recommend Jo as he is a very talented photographer who I have worked with many times now. Jo is professional, friendly and great fun to work with. Jo is by far the best photographer I’ve had the opportunity to work with. His photos are spectacular with a unique edge. We also have a great laugh during shoots so he makes you feel at ease in any situation. Working with Jonathan was something I had wanted to do for some considerable time, after following his work since I had started modelling at least a year previous to our shoot. I was delighted when he asked to organise a photoshoot with me and particularly when it was arranged as an early evening dusk shoot in Aberdeen city centre. Having spoken to Jonathan at length before meeting him I was already very comfortable about the idea of shooting with him and my normal pre-shoot nerves were non existant. From the very beginning of the shoot I was confident in Jonathan’s ability and ideas, working fast to ensure we got the best light, it was fantastic to watch someone thinking so confidently on their feet. Jonathan from start to finish was professional and easy going and directed and choreographed the shoot perfectly, whilst still giving me the opportunity to make my own suggestions. The images turned out absolutely as well as I had imagined if not better and I would work with him again in the blink of an eye.

 

Iwanted to get some professional fitness photos taken for a website I was designing. Jo came highly recommended to me because of his professional attitude and enthusiasm for his craft. Having never done any modelling before I was moderately apprehensive before meeting Jo. Once I arrived at the studio my nerves were settled as we immediately had a common bond – fitness. Having been a gym enthusiast in the past Jo was able to use his knowledge of fitness and photography to create some great shots. I am looking forward to working with Jo again in the future!

 

 

Where do we begin? Words cannot express how absolutely delighted we
were to clinch Jonathan Addie as our wedding photographer. He is everything you want and more – incredibly professional, undeniably gifted and creative behind the lens and yet, most special of all, not wrapped up in an air of arrogance. Excellence in photography is more difficult than most people imagine. Anyone who can understand the rule of thirds and press a shutter button can take a photo, however to produce a stunning imagine requires a knowledge of your subject and a flair for composition that only a very few can muster.
